Krneta began in 2015 to update and improve an industry that has for so long seen the business of compliance and certification as a hindrance rather than the benefit it provides.

Endeavouring to change this perception and forge a stronger sense of community, Krneta sees its position as one of great responsibility; a way to build projects that adhere to certification and standards but also to push a sometimes-reluctant industry forward and into one of innovation and respect.

About Krneta

Established by Nathan Krneta to meet this mission, he was quickly joined by associates Jacob Ravenhall and Baris Sahin. Registered nationally, Krneta operates from their Cremorne office with views of the CBD skyline, the MCG and the Royal Botanic Gardens, a constant reminder of the positive social and environmental impact the industry has.

Growing fast with an enthusiastic team, Krneta prides itself on a forward-thinking, proactive culture that’s able to provide the highest level of service in an industry we love.

With three generations in construction, perhaps it was inevitable that Nathan Krneta would enter the industry.

“My father was a construction engineer. He’d take me on-site and show me compliance issues and how things needed to be fixed and why. My love for construction and compliance grew from there.”

Quickly noticing what the industry was lacking – and with ideas on how to improve it – Krneta was established with eyes firmly focused on the top.

“Working on something you’re passionate about shouldn’t be hard and can barely be considered work; it’s enjoyable, and watching something you’ve built out of nothing is a reward in itself.”

Nathan founded Krneta to provide the best service for clients to build and protect their investments for years to come. Through transparency and the support of modern technology, Nathan is committed to providing the best possible service to his clients effectively and efficiently.

Having previously worked with Nathan through numerous stages in his career, Jacob recognised a commitment to quality and compliance akin to his own. He came on board in the early stages of Krneta’s inception to provide a fresh pair of eyes and a particular skill set to push the company further.

“Melbourne is known for its construction industry and building surveying. It requires an array of knowledge across multiple sectors. Seeing construction come to life from design to build is really satisfying.”

Jacob’s commitment to ethical and responsible practices within the industry is one of great importance to him and a major reason why he and Krneta strive to do the best job possible. Through transparency and a team full of understanding and experience, the myth that compliance is an issue to be dealt with is something Jacob wants to dispel, replacing it with a sense of long-term investment and respect for people and the world we live in.

As Krneta embarks on greater market penetration and expands nationwide, Jacob is excited to see the business step out of its comfort zone and towards something bigger. “I want Krneta to be a household name in the construction industry, linked with an image of quality and assurance.”

Family, in all aspects, is a major driving factor at Krneta, and Jacob is no different. “I love spending my free time with my wife and kids, even if it’s running around to swimming lessons or school drop-offs.”

Baris joined Krneta in 2017. Having an established working relationship with Nathan in previous years, made the transition to Krneta seem inevitable.

With a family history in building, there was always an interest and passion for building and infrastructure. Baris recalls his first endeavour into the industry back in 2010 as one that had him hooked immediately.

“Dealing with consultants across multiple disciplines and playing a pivotal role in the construction lifespan of a project really captured my interest. The rest, as they say, is history.” As Krneta grows in recognition and experience, Baris is pushing the business further every day.

With a strong focus on client relationships, combined with the drive and dedication to succeed, he’s quickly established a reputation in the industry, one projecting confidence, reliability and efficiency.

“Ultimately, our goal is to be one of, if not the top building surveying firm in the country,” he says, echoing the principles and ambitions of Nathan and Jacob. Krneta prides itself on its own family, and by extension, the family of our team.

Baris spends as much time as possible with his young family and when the moment strikes, dinner with his wife or friends.

The pursuit of continual growth and knowledge is something that Dean Tohovitis takes seriously.

“I completed my Diploma of Building in 2007 and entered the industry as a Quantity Surveyor in 2008, gaining valuable experience in reviewing architectural plans and understanding construction techniques. With site experience, I decided it was time to continue learning and went on to get a Bachelor of Building Surveying Degree in 2017. I aspire to keep going by next attaining an Unlimited Building Surveying registration in Victoria.”

His dedication to constant learning not only benefits Krneta, but also their clients who know they’re in safe hands whenever Dean is involved.

“I bring a sound understanding of construction design, techniques, and processes to my role. And my curiosity coupled with prompt, clear, and transparent communication helps me deliver outstanding results for my clients.”

Dean's curiosity and drive to explore extends beyond his career. In his spare time you will find him outdoors or planning his next trip away.
